Head of the Kitchen
The recipes are hers. She still tastes every sauce before it leaves the stove, and she still believes no one salts pasta water correctly except her.
Our Story
San Benedetto is a small, family-run Italian kitchen in Sarno. We cook the recipes we grew up on, by hand, with patience, and with the belief that good food is an act of love.
La Nostra Famiglia
San Benedetto started with a simple idea: bring the food we cook at home, for the people we love, to a table where everyone is welcome. Nothing complicated. Pasta rolled by hand. Sauce left to simmer until it tastes right. Dough that rests long enough to become bread, and pizza, and lasagna.
We are a family business in the truest sense. Parents, children, cousins. The same hands that knead the dough in the morning set the tables at night. This is our kitchen, and you are invited to it.
How It Began
The first pot of sauce at San Benedetto was made in a home kitchen, for a Sunday that never ended. Friends came, neighbors came, and nobody wanted to leave. That feeling, the table that keeps growing, is what we built this restaurant around.
We brought those same recipes to Sarno without changing them. The cannelloni is still stuffed by hand. The risotto is still stirred until it yields. The pizza still comes out of a hot oven with a blistered crust and the smell of basil in the air.
We are not chasing trends. We are keeping a tradition alive, one plate at a time, for the people who sit down at our table.
What We Stand For
Our pasta is rolled and cut by hand. Our dough is kneaded, not rushed. We believe the touch of a hand is something a machine cannot replace, and you can taste the difference on the plate.
Every dish on our menu comes from someone's grandmother. We cook them the way they were taught to us, with the same ingredients, the same patience, and the same respect for the way they have always been made.
A meal at San Benedetto is meant to be shared. We set our tables for conversation, for lingering, for a second glass of wine. You are not a customer here. You are a guest in our home, and we treat you that way.

Pizzaiolo & Pasta Maker
Lucia's son. He runs the oven and the dough, stretches every pizza by hand, and has been making bread since he could reach the counter on a stool.
Front of House
Marco's daughter. She knows every regular by name, remembers what you ordered last time, and makes sure the table is set before you walk through the door.

"If the sauce is not right, we do not serve it. If the table is not warm, we are not done."
